NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati wins CSR Health Impact Award 2024

KOKRAJHAR, Sept 2: NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati has been conferred with the esteemed CSR Health Impact Award 2024 under the category of Child Health System Strengthening Project (Rural) for its dedicated efforts in Tuensang district, Nagaland. This accolade recognises NTPC Bongaigaon’s ongoing commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and its focus on uplifting rural communities and enhancing the quality of life as a responsible corporate entity.

The award was presented by Ashwini Kumar Choubey, former Union minister, at a ceremony held in Delhi, where Shubham Pandey, law officer, NTPC Bongaigaon, accepted the honour on behalf of the 750 MW power station. This recognition highlights NTPC Bongaigaon’s initiatives to bolster healthcare services and infrastructure in rural areas, with a particular emphasis on child health.

The trophy was subsequently handed over to Akhilesh Singh, head of project, NTPC Bongaigaon, by Onkar Nath, AGM (HR), in a ceremony attended by senior officials, including Roshan Dungdung, DGM (HR), Madhurjya Singha Lahkar, senior manager (HR-Corporate Communication), and Aduity Thakuri, CSR executive of the station. The award celebrates NTPC Bongaigaon’s efforts to design and implement sustainable projects that address pressing health challenges in underserved communities.

In his remarks, Akhilesh Singh expressed his appreciation to the CSR and HR team at NTPC Bongaigaon for their dedication and hard work. He noted that this recognition highlights the station’s commitment to driving impactful CSR initiatives that bring about positive change and improve community well-being.

Moreover, NTPC, New Delhi, was also honoured with the ‘CSR Women & Child Health Project’ award for its initiative, ‘Running of Maternal and Child Healthcare Units at NTPC Stations’, which reaffirms NTPC’s pivotal role in promoting public health and social welfare across India.
