The MoA signing ceremony took place in Itanagar on Saturday and was attended by officials and representatives from relevant authorities. The collaborative effort between NEEPCO and the Arunachal Pradesh government aims to contribute to India’s ambitious goals in the field of clean energy.

By developing these hydro projects, India will take strides towards fulfilling its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) target of achieving a non-fossil energy capacity of 500 GW by the year 2030. Moreover, hydroelectric power will play a crucial role in advancing the nation’s commitment to achieve Net Zero carbon emissions by 2070.

Beyond the environmental benefits, the projects are anticipated to have a positive impact on the local economy and employment landscape. The region is poised to benefit from significant employment opportunities generated by the projects, thus fostering skill development and technical expertise within the local community.
