NYK organises road safety activities

NAGAON, Jan 16: As part of the nationwide road safety week initiative from January 11 to January 17, 2024, NYK (Nehru Yuva Kendra), Morigaon, in collaboration with the district administration, conducted a series of road safety activities at various locations in the district. The areas covered included Maya Bazar Bihutoli, Sanibazar Chariali, Moirabari, Mayong, Narayan Bazar, Dalanghat, Jagi Road, among others. Volunteers distributed leaflets to pedestrians and drivers, providing information on traffic guidelines and transportation regulations.

More than a hundred volunteers from NGOs and NSS units actively participated in the initiative, working to raise awareness among the public regarding traffic rules and safety measures. Additionally, over three hundred volunteers and students from various educational institutions organised a rally starting from Baghara HS School on Tuesday morning. The rally aimed to encourage the general public to adhere to traffic guidelines and transportation acts while driving on the road.

Dhananjay Talukdar, the account cum program officer at NYK, Morigaon, expressed gratitude to all the participants for their active involvement in the road safety activities.
