Paryavaran Sanrakshan Chetna Cycle Yatra held in Hojai

HOJAI, Oct 1: Paryavaran Sanrakshan Chetna Cycle Yatra, led by Dr. Prodip Kumar Sahoo on Saturday was completed successfully by the citizens of Lanka which comprised of 80 cyclists including teachers and students from different educational institutions of Lanka town and around, members of Indian Red Cross Society, NSS team of Lanka Mahavidyalaya organised by Small Steps, TERRE in collaboration of Paryavaran Sanrakshan Gatividhi, Hojai.

The zeal and the co-operation of the participants were appreciative. The joint venture of Paryavaran Sanrakshan – Hojai, Small Steps, TERRE and IRCS, district branch aimed to take out bicycle rally with objectives to aware people to save tree and water, avoid plastics as far as possible, plant and preserve trees, avoid burning garbage to control air pollution, all for the sake of healthy environment, necessary for the future generations.

At the end of the rally, Dr. Prodip Kumar Sahoo, wildlife biologist and environment conservationist delivered a speech and appealed to the participants to conserve all aspects of the environment and to spread the message among the people of their connection. He emphasised on segregation and to dispose of the waste properly to minimise the existing problems related to the management of the wastage of the district. The program concluded by Dr Sahoo with a song – ‘Pani hi to Zindagi hai iske har bund ko bachayein, is k bina zindagi hum na ji payenge’.
