MARGHERITA, Sept 15: Preparations are underway to plant six lakh saplings in an attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the largest potted sapling mosaic map and the shape of a one-horned rhinoceros. This initiative is taking place in Ulup Pather, under Inthem Gaon Panchayat of the 124th Margherita Constituency in Tinsukia district, Assam.

As part of the ‘Amrit Brikshya Andolan’ program, the state government is striving to plant one crore saplings across the state on September 17, with the goal of boosting the tree economy and increasing green cover.

To achieve this ambitious goal and set a Guinness World Record, the state government is focusing on planting saplings on a one-hectare industrial farm in Ulup Pather. The plantation will take the form of the largest potted sapling mosaic map and the shape of the world-famous one-horned rhinoceros.

Local residents in the area are actively participating in this initiative, working alongside the Forest department and the government to make this Guinness World Record attempt a success. They view this effort with great pride and hope that it will not only set a world record but also boost both national and international tourism, creating employment opportunities and generating revenue for the region.
