TEZPUR, April 18: A polling personnel was arrested in Tezpur on Thursday on charges of violating electioneering protocol.
According to sources, the polling official, identified as Kamaluddin is an employee of Sonitpur (Thelamara) Polytechnic Institute. He was assigned the duty of polling personnel for the first phase of the general elections that will take placeon Friday. After receiving polling materials at the Darrang College, he reportedly cast his vote by postal ballot paper and captured its image on his mobile phone and later circulated the same through WhatsApp to others.
However, the police arrested the accused polling official.
