DIPHU, Nov 17: The second Rapid Chess tournament, organised by Diphu Chess Academy, concluded successfully on Sunday at Chandra Sing Teron High School, Diphu.
The tournament featured five age categories, a girls’ category, and recognition for the top five overall positions. In the Top-5 rankings, Princeson Teron secured 1st place, followed by Rihan Ahmed in 2nd, Rangsina Bey in 3rd, Anindya S. Daolaguphu in 4th and Raj Chetry in 5th.
In the age categories, the winners were: Under-7: Honkuru Engti, Under-9: 1st Arim Engti, 2nd Smairingdi Difoesa, 3rd Harshil Sharma, Under-11: 1st Biswajit Rongpi, 2nd Anupol Kashyap, 3rd Nibir Nandan Bora, Under-13: 1st Supritom Nandan Bora, 2nd Sar Nongklar Terang, 3rd Pragyo Prachurja Borah and Under-15: 1st Angthik Engti, 2nd Plengbong Teron, 3rd Akash Dutta.
In the girls’ category, Klaribon Terangpi won 1st place, followed by Ritisha Khaklary in 2nd and Klarika Terangpi in 3rd.
The tournament was officiated by International Arbiter M Arun Singh as Chief Arbiter and organised by the Diphu Chess Academy committee, including president Alam Hazarika, secretary Salma Sultana Sultana and Coach Girish Ch Borah.
