The vice president of Raijor Dal, Ranjit Tamuly, secretaries Bijit Dutta, Anup Barpatra Gohain, Padmakanta Das, spokesman TN Pran, Sivasagar district president Munindra Lahon, LAC president Jitujyoti Gayan and others including Shah Jahan Ali, Dipankar Konwar, Abdul Aziz, and Ranjit Gogoi took part in the massive demonstration.
Ranjit Tamuly said that Demow in Thowra LAC is closer to the AMC, Dibrugarh and people from Sivasagar, Nazira and Amguri LACs will be deprived of the medical facilities of the college, if established in Demow. The protesters demanded the medical college to be established in historic Zerenga Pathar adjacent to the Sivasagar Civil Hospital or upgrade the Civil Hospital itself to a college and hospital.
