Ram Navami procession in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH, April 7: Dibrugarh Safron Army organised rally on the ocassion of Ram Navami in Dibrugarh on Sunday.

Around thousand people participated in the rally with great enthusiasm.

The members chanted ‘Jai Sri Ram’ holding flags. The procession started from PN Road in Dibrugarh where youths participated in large numbers.

State cabinet minister and Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan and DMC Mayor Dr Saikat Patra participated in the Ram Navami procession.

Speaking to reporters, Prasanta Phukan said, “On the ocassion of Ram Navami, a huge procession was taken out. We should spread the message of brotherhood and unity. Ram Navami has a religious significance and we should spread the message of Lord Ram.”

DMC Mayor Saikat Patra congratulated the organising committee for organising the event.

“We should follow the path of Lord Ram and from today we should take pledge that we will be united. Many forces tried to divide us but we should remember that we are Hindus and we should be united at any cost,” said Mithun Debnath, a Hindutva leader and social activist.

The procession passed through the main streets of Dibrugarh.
