Ramkuiwangbe Newme of Dima Hasao nominated for ‘Padma Shri-2023’ award for his social work

HAFLONG Jan 27: Ramkuiwangbe Newme has been announced the recipient of ‘Padma Shri Award’. The Padma Shri Award is one of the highest civilian awards of India. Ramkuiwangbe Newme is a noted social worker from Dima Hasao.
He has dedicated his life for the conservation and preservation of Heraka religion. He has also established 10 primary schools and encouraged education for women and also transcripted ‘Tingwang Hingde’ of Heraka religion.
On the occasion of 74th Republic Day, CEM (Chief Executive Member), NCHAC, Debolal Gorlosa along with Chairperson, NCHAC, Ranu Langthasa in the presence of Deputy Commissioner, Nazreen Ahmed, ACS felicitated Ramkuiwangbe Newme for this achievement at N.L. Daulagupu Sports Complex, Haflong.
