Ravi Sureka elected as president at conclusion of LUB North East AGM

Guwahati, July 3: The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the north-east unit of Laghu Udyog Bharti (LUB) concluded under the leadership of provincial president Manoj Lundia, where Ravi Sureka was elected as the president. The meeting, inaugurated by Om Prakash Mittal, in-charge of the north-east region of LUB, commenced with the lighting of a lamp. Notable attendees included national joint general secretary Ashish Deorah, provincial president Manoj Lundia, senior member Bhanwar Lal Aggarwal, and provincial general secretary Ravi Sureka.

In his welcome address, provincial president Lundia highlighted the purpose of forming LUB north-east unit, which aims to promote the interests of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Assam and the north-east region. The organisation currently has over 650 active members from the north-east. LUB is dedicated to supporting small-scale industries and entrepreneurs. Efforts are underway to open branches in Nagaland, Tripura, and various locations in Assam. General secretary Ravi Sureka presented a comprehensive report on the programs conducted over the past two years.

During the organisational discussion, north-east in-charge Om Prakash Mittal announced Ravi Sureka as the unopposed provincial president for the upcoming session. Vivek Agarwal was appointed as the provincial general secretary, and Amit Chirawal as the provincial treasurer. Manoj Lundia has been entrusted with the responsibility of chairman of LUB north eastern province. Mittal, the in-charge of Eastern India, established the women’s unit at the north-east level, aiming to directly involve women in the organisation. Neha Khandelwal was nominated as the founder provincial president, Krishna Kalita as the provincial general secretary, and Kirti Agarwal as the provincial treasurer.

Additionally, the names of the office bearers and executive members of the north-eastern province were announced, and all the office bearers were felicitated. National joint secretary Ashish Deorah also shared his views during the meeting. Representatives from Nagaon, Golaghat, Jorhat, and other places provided valuable suggestions during the organisational discussion. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by newly appointed general secretary Vivek Agarwal.
