NAGAON, July 23: The Rotary Club of Nagaon inaugurated a newly constructed public waiting shed on Wednesday, furthering its commitment to community service through sustainable infrastructure initiatives.
According to an official statement, the shed was formally inaugurated by local MLA Rupak Sarma in the presence of elected representatives, members of the Rotary Club, and local residents.
Chairman of the Nagaon Municipal Board Ambika Mazumdar, Vice Chairman Simanta Borah, and Simpi Borah attended the function as special invitees.
The waiting shed has been donated by Rotarian Birendra Jain in fond memory of his late grandfather, Jaichand Lal ji Kuhar Jain.
The gesture was acknowledged by attendees as a meaningful act of public remembrance and a reflection of Rotary’s values.
Rotary Club President Aman Dassani and Secretary Mamta Agarwal expressed their gratitude to the dignitaries and supporters for their presence and encouragement during the event.
The Rotary Club reaffirmed its commitment to the principle of “Service Above Self” and stated that the project aims to create a lasting and meaningful impact for the benefit of the public.
