GUWAHATI, Jan 11: The Rotary International District 3240 proudly announces the successful conclusion of its 34th District Conference – ‘CONFERO’, held over three impactful days under the dynamic leadership of district governor Rotarian Nilesh Kumar Agarwal and conference chairman rotarian Sunil Patni.
The inaugural session of the conference was graced by the esteemed presence of the Governor Gulab Chand Kataria. In his address, Governor Kataria praised the commendable activities and initiatives undertaken by Rotary International, emphasising the organisation’s commitment to service and community development.
Highlighting the exceptional contributions in the fields of literacy and education, the Rotary Service Excellence Award was conferred upon Akshar Forum. This recognition underscores their outstanding efforts in advancing literacy and education within the community. Additionally, the award was extended to Dr R Ravi Kannan, a distinguished surgical oncologist and the director of Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Silchar. Dr Kannan’s relentless dedication to medicine and healthcare aligns with Rotary’s focus on improving health outcomes and access to quality care.
The conference witnessed a remarkable turnout of close to 1100 delegates from various parts of the North East, Sikkim, and parts of West Bengal. The attendees were treated to a wealth of knowledge and inspiration through engaging sessions led by eminent speakers and social reformers. Notable figures included Dr Gnanvatsal Swami from BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, Temjen Imna Along, the Tourism and Education minister of Nagaland, and other distinguished speakers and performers.
District governor rotarian Nilesh Kumar Agarwal expressed his gratitude towards all the participants, patrons, and organisers for making CONFERO a resounding success. He highlighted the conference’s role in fostering collaboration, sharing ideas, and promoting Rotary’s core values of service above self.
Conference chairman rotarian Sunil Patni echoed these sentiments, emphasising the importance of collective efforts in driving positive change within communities. He applauded the dedication of Rotary members and the impactful projects showcased during the conference.
