RSS urges 100% voter turnout, calls for prioritising national interest

Appeals for nationwide outreach programmes, cultural milestones and organisation restructure

GUWAHATI, March 19: With reference to the upcoming Assam and other state Legislative Assembly elections, the Uttar Assam Prant of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has called upon citizens to ensure 100% voter participation, placing national interest above all. Addressing a press conference, RSS Assam Kshetra’s Kshetra Prachar Pramukh Dr Sunil Mohanty appealed to voters to actively participate in the democratic process and contribute to national reconstruction.

He said the year marks key cultural milestones, including the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram, the 350th martyrdom year of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, and the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Ravidas Ji, with programmes planned to promote social and cultural awareness.

Uttar Assam Prant Prachar Pramukh Kishor Shivam and Prant Karyavah Khagen Saikia shared details from the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha held from March 13 to 15 in Haryana, attended by 1,438 representatives.

They highlighted Sangh activities under the centenary year, including over 62,000 Vijayadashami events and nationwide outreach to over 100 million people. In Uttar Assam, outreach covered over 11 lakh families across 13,061 villages.

The Sangh also reported thousands of programmes, shakhas and organisational participation across the country. It announced restructuring from 11 kshetras to 9 and from 46 prants to 85 sambhags to strengthen expansion and decentralisation.
