GUWAHATI, Feb 18: Inspector general of Border Security Force (BSF) Rajesh Kumar handed over the charge to Sanjay Singh Gehlot, IG designate for Guwahati frontier HQ on Thursday.
Sanjay Singh Gehlot, IG designate having experience of serving in both western and eastern theatre of the Force is a recipient of PPMS and Ati Utkrisht Seva Padak and also served in the Elite Black Cat Commando Force (NSG). After assuming the charge IG designate Gehlot, emphasized upon the necessity of effective Border Management to prevent trans-border crimes and strengthening of cordial relations between two Border Guarding Forces. He also stressed to focus upon welfare of troops and winning hearts of the border populace while accomplishing assigned tasks.
Notably, Kumar has been repatriated to his parent cadre in Maharashtra police after completion of tenure in central deputation. Rajesh Kumar is a 1998 batch Indian Police Service officer and Post Graduate in M/Tech. Prior to his present posting in BSF, Kumar served as Deputy Inspector General in ITBP and thereafter joined the Border Security Force as Inspector General and served in Special DG HQ BSF (Western Command) and Force HQ New Delhi.
