JORHAT, March 7: Amid discussions ongoing between the BJP and the AGP regarding the Teok seat, the AGP has made it clear that it is not willing to give up the constituency. Indicating a green signal for an AGP candidate to contest from the constituency, the party’s youth wing, Asom Yuva Parishad, organised a “Sankalp Yatra” (Resolution March) in Jorhat, keeping the upcoming elections in mind.
The programme was organised by the Asom Yuva Parishad Jorhat District Committee, with cooperation from the Teok Assembly Constituency Committee, following directions from the AGP central committee. The yatra began from the AGP office located at Ajanta Hall Bypass in Jorhat and covered a large area in the form of a massive bike rally, carrying the message of peace and progress.
The rally was attended by several party leaders and workers, including AGP Jorhat District president Saurav Pran Bora, AGP Central General Secretary Bikash Saikia, Jitu Borgohain, office bearers of Asom Yuva Parishad, members of the Jorhat district AGP committee and a large number of supporters and voters from the constituency.
