KHERONI, July 31: A 15-day Sattriya workshop, organised by the Shrimanta Shankardev Krishti Vikash Kendra, concluded on July 29 at Pub-Udali village under the Lumding Assembly constituency in Hojai district.
The workshop, held at the Pub-Udali Bishnu Mandir premises, had commenced on July 15.
Over 50 trainees participated in the workshop and demonstrated their skills in various Sattriya dance forms during the closing ceremony.
The event was organised at the request of the local Ramdhenu Self-Help Group.
Training was imparted under the guidance of chief instructor Bakul Bora, with support from Devashish Saikia and Anita Devi, all deputed by the organising body.
The closing function was marked by the presence of several dignitaries, including Vice-President Joybabu Singh, District Veterinary Officer Dr Lochan Ranjan Talukdar, and retired teacher Tankeswar Nath, who distributed certificates to the participants.
Organising committee secretary Gajen Hazarika addressed the gathering during the event.
Residents of Pub-Udali expressed satisfaction with the initiative, noting that such cultural workshops help connect the younger generation with the region’s traditional art forms.
