SBIOA to hold 32nd Annual Meet tomorrow

GUWAHATI, Feb 6: State Bank of India Officers’ Association (SBIOA), Northeastern Circle is going to hold the 32nd Annual General Body Meeting on Feb 8 at the premises of SBOA Public School, Garchuk.

More than 1500 officers from different nooks and corners of the seven sisters states shall conglomerate to brainstorm and discuss various issues and draw the outline for future courses of action.

The day-long event shall kickstart with a ceremonial hoisting of the flag and sloganeering, where Com T.A.P. Paul, the Circle president along with Com Rupam Roy, the Circle general secretary, in the presence of the general secretaries and presidents of attending Circles amidst huge gathering of members shall unfurl the association flag.

The auditorium has been christened as Com Kashinath Hazarika Manch, remembering his humongous contribution towards the formation and propagation of Circle Association and his contribution to opening of SBOA Public School. A floral Tribute will also be paid to noble souls by the dignitaries.

The lamp lighting ceremony and offering of floral tribute shall follow with a welcome address by Com Sanjib Sen. The chief guest of the event S. Radhakrishnan shall address the gathering in virtual mode on account of his official exigencies compelling him being out of station.

The general manager, NW-II and general manager, CAO Guwahati shall grace the occasion as guest of honour and shall enlighten the audience highlighting various concerns of the bank and business priorities with special emphasis on the association’s role in the progress of the Bank.

During the event, president of All India State Bank Officers’ Association, Com Arun Bishoyi shall address the gathering and appraise the audience with member’s concern and shall sketch the outline of future struggles. The other guest of honours Com Shyamanta Konwar, the GS of SBISA, N E circle shall also grace the occasion with his valuable presence and address the assembly highlighting the common issues plaguing both the organisation and how together they can address the issues to bring laurels for the Circle association. The pensioner’s issue will be highlighted by Com Bhupen Hazarika and give insights about various developments and issues of concern for the SBI pensioners.

Com Rupam Roy, the Circle general secretary, general secretary AIBOC and the general secretary AISBOF shall showcase the organisation’s development focussing on various issue confronted by the industry and also give an elaborate account of the recently concluded wage negotiations. He shall also delve in detail the impending agitation programme and the roadmap for clinching the residual issues connecting to 9th Joint Note.

Roy shall also appraise the membership on the position relating to 5-day banking and other agreed upon clauses. The meeting shall conclude with the presidential address by Com T.A.P Paul followed by a Vote of Thanks.

The business session shall start with the general secretary presenting the secretarial report before the members coming from all across the Circle. The financial report will be placed by the secretary (finance), Com Suraj Pradhan followed by which the members shall deliberate on secretarial report elaborately before getting the report passed by the members with their suggestion or feedback and required amendment, if any.

The members shall also get an opportunity to seek redressal of their issues pertaining to their area of operations to which the general secretary shall respond and shall propose the possible resolution of their issues.

A set of resolutions shall also be taken to be implemented during the intervening period of the next general body meeting. The suggestion/feedback/affirmation from the general body shall also be recorded for making any necessary amendment in the association’s bye-law and necessary approval shall also be sought for the proposed changes.
