KOKRAJHAR, Jan 6: The second edition of Kokrajhar LitFest 2023 (Kokrajhar Literary Festival) has got underway from Friday with three day programme being held at Bodofa Cultural Complex, Chandamari in ‘city of peace’, Kokrajhar.
The Kokrajhar LitFest was organised by Government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) with the theme of literature for peace and harmony to promote the literary creativity as well bridging unity and integrity among the citizens across the state.
Chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Pramod Boro graced the occasion and lit the lamp to inaugurate the event amidst well gathering of poets, authors and participants from different parts of the country.
In his speech, Boro said that the Kokrajhar LitFest is a platform to engage in the pursuit of literary excellence and promote peace through literature among the society. He said that the BTR government has been initiating several steps towards the welfare and uplift of the region on all frontal aspects which are related to the humanity in peace and integrity.
He informed that this time the Kokrajhar LitFest has been coming out with the theme of literature for peace and harmony through which society can aspects strengthening of peace and development.
” I am elated to inaugurate the second Kokrajhar Literary Festival, organised by BTR Govt, at the Bodofa Cultural Complex, Kokrajhar where we saw a well attended gathering from different parts of the region.
The inaugural session was chaired by Prof. Anil Boro, chairman of organising committee.
Anurag Goel, IAS, principal secretary BTR Government welcomed all guests and dignitaries present in the event.
Prof. Ramesh Chandea Bharadwaj, vice chancellor of Maharshi Valmiki Sanskrit University graced as chief guest, Dr. K. Sreenivasa Rao, secretary Sahitya Akademi, Dr. Kuladhar Saikia, president Assam Sahitya Sabha and author Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi were prominent special guests on the occasion.
Assam cabinet minister and noted writer Urkhao Gwra Brahma attended as key note speaker on the day.
Prasanta Boro, general secretary Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Monica Banerjee, CEO Inter globe Foundation and several distinguished guests and avid book lovers from across the state also witnessed the inauguration of the Second Kokrajhar literary festival.
