Shankha Dhwani Shilpi Samaj celebrates 6th foundation day

NAGAON, Sept 7: The Shankha Dhwani Shilpi Samaj, a social and cultural organisation of Puranigudam, celebrated its 6th foundation day on September 6 at the Bapuji Bhavan and Library auditorium.

During the event, the annual Shankha Dhwani Shilpi Award was presented to Chittaranjan Borah, a noted artist and sculptor from Puranigudam, in recognition of his 25 years of contribution to the field of art.

The award, instituted in memory of late Swarna Hazarika, consists of a certificate, a ‘Cheleng’, a memento, and a citation.

While addressing the occasion, Chittaranjan Borah expressed gratitude to the Shankha Dhwani Shilpi Samaj and acknowledged the support of his father, who provided him with the space to pursue his artistic endeavours.

The event also featured cultural performances, including Borgeet and Sattriya dance, and the release of the second issue of the handwritten magazine Shankha Dhwani.

The programme was attended by several dignitaries, and the Shankha Dhwani Shilpi Samaj’s Sattvik Kala Kendra showcased various art forms, including music, dance, and yoga.
