SITA’s vice chairman inaugurates new project

GUWAHATI, May 30: 
State Innovation and Transformation Aayog (SITA) vice chairman Ramen Deka inaugurated Jagannath Barooah College Civil Services Study Centre, Jorhat which was funded by SITA in a programme held at the conference hall of Jagannath Barooah College, Jorhat on Tuesday. In the programme, vice chairman Ramen Deka also handed over the first installment to carry out the funded project to Dr Utpal Jyoti Mahanta, principal of Jagannath Barooah College.
Speaking on the occasion, the vice chairman said he is hopeful that the project would serve its purpose in providing motivation and will instill confidence in the aspiring students.
“The project will also provide proper infrastructure which will include study materials,” he said.
At the same time, he also advised the students to take full advantage of the study centre to achieve success.
The project of SITA will be carried out on a pilot basis wherein four colleges were selected for the first phase in which Jagannath Barooah College, Jorhat was one of them.
It is worth mentioning that for the said project, a memorandum of agreement (MoA) was signed between SITA and Jagannath Barooah College, Jorhat on April 10, 2023.
The programme was attended by Dr Bichitra Kr Barthakur, president, Governing Body, Palit Kr Bora, Dilip Hazarika, DS Hazari and students & faculty members of JB College, Jorhat.
