SIVASAGAR, Jan 3: The first rank holder in Gunotsav 2022, Sivasagar district’s education department organised an evaluation and review meeting of teachers and administrators on Tuesday in Yuvadal on the preparation for the forthcoming Gunotsav on January 18, 19, 20 and 21.
The inspector of schools, Sivasagar circle, Kamaljyoti Gogoi delivered his welcome speech and lauded the effort of the teachers of the schools, guardians and the administrators in bringing laurels to the district.
Gunotsav 2023 will specifically focus on the scholastic aspects (90 p.c.) only, it was underlined by district programme officer (DPO) and district nodal officer, Gaurisankar Barua in the meeting. Baruah stressed on Nipun Asom Mission, the foundational literacy and numeracy mission, which is a time bound mission. The meeting also felicitated all the 559 schools for getting A+ category in the last Gunotsav.
MP Jorhat Topon Kumar Gogoi, the chief guest, gave away the Gunotsav Award to the SSA Mission coordinator and IS Kamaljyoti Gogoi and other employees and administered the oath to teachers. He cautioned the teachers to renew their effort to maintain the lead the district has achieved. He said that the government has invested in a big way to reshape the education sector of the state.
Earlier, Aditya Vikram Yadav, IAS, DC Sivasagar lit the ceremonial light and inaugurated the meeting. He said that the district must bring in better results in the Gunotsav 2023 and the teachers should not apply for leave till the Gunotsav assessment. He urged every teacher to adopt at least one student of disadvantaged groups as a mission in life.
Dr Saumerjyoti Mahanta, principal, Sibsagar Commerce College congratulated Sivasagar team for achieving envious distinction in the field of education as it did in the past since the Ahom days. He said that the basic foundation of education in schools needs to be given utmost importance to achieve all round sustainable development.
Richa Saikia, DPO on Alternative Education, spoke on various stages of planning and implementation of the department. She said that three students from the Sivasagar district achieved recognition from the government of India. Ashim Baruah, DPO, spoke on the importance of community participation for success in Gunotsav. The DPO also spoke on the assessment tools for the divyangas (physically challenged) as per the new guidelines
