MORIGAON, Feb 22: Sharat Ch Koch (65), the founder secretary of Morigaon Zila Gramya Puthi Bharal Santha (MZGPBS), passed away due to cardiac arrest in the wee hours at his residence in Jagi, Jagiroad. Born in 1959 at Jagi, Jagiroad, he was a devoted practitioner of Sankari religion and culture. He was also the founder of Sarvodaya Public School, Morigaon. Sharat Ch Koch had been serving as the secretary for the NGO Morigaon Zila Gramya Puthibharal Santha since its inception until 2019. He was also an active worker of the Srimanta Sankardeva Sangha. People from the area paid their respects to him at his residence. He is survived by two daughters, a son, and a wife.
President of the District Satra Mahasabha Dr Sunil Kumar Goswami, secretary Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya, Morigaon District Information and Public Relations Officer Pompi Devi, former Morigaon MLAs Harendra Bora and Munin Mohanta, Assam Jatiya Parishad Morigaon District Committee president Jayant Kumar Deka, and Morigaon Jatiya Vidyalaya principal Jagdish Nath were among those who paid their respects.
