Social worker passes away

MORIGAON, Feb 4: Gitamoni Devi, the active member of ‘Satbhani Foundation’ untimely breathed her life on Feb 4 at a private hospital in Guwahati.

 She was the active member of voluntary organisation “Satbhani Foundation”.

Devi was admitted to Morigaon Civil Hospital on Wednesday night but was shifted to Guwahati Dispur Hospital for further treatment suffering from a critical disease. She was treated at Hyderabad AIG Hospital including Dispur Hospital in Guwahati earlier .She gradually recovered but suddenly fell ill again on February 3. Her husband Muhan Chandra Nath immediately admitted her to Namecare Hospital in Guwahati .But Devi gave in to fate.

She finally passed away at 5:30 am on February 4 at Namecare Hospital. She is survived by two children. She was very active in the social organisation “Satbhani Foundation” members and rivers and she was the secretary of Nari Jagrati Shakti Assam Morigaon District Committee.

Satbhani Foundation president Bubu Assam and Nadi and Nari Jagrati Shakti, Assam Central Committee chief secretary Baikunth Prince Pathak and many other members paid their last respects to Devi .
