Sonitpur gears up for Gunotsav

Training programme for the nodal teachers held

Tezpur, May 23: “We have a total of 120 liaison officers (CRCCs) besides other officials against 120 clusters in the district who have been working round the clock to make the Gunotsav a grand success. On June 1 the schools will go for self-evaluation and as per schedule the external evaluators (EE) will move to their stipulated schools for the external evaluation. Altogether 617 external evaluators will be appointed. However, as we have only 420 external evaluators available in our district 197 such officers have been hired from neighbouring districts including Darrang and Nagaon,” an official from the Education department said.

He added that there are altogether 1180 schools under Balipara, Dhekiajuli, Gabharu and Naduar Education Blocks and the office of the Inspector of schools, Sonitpur District Circle, Tezpur. However, the Gunotsav will be held in total 1167 target schools covering Government, provincialised and tea garden-managed schools having a total of 1,42,813  students from Class 1 to 9.

Including Baksa, Cachar, Chirang, Dhubri, Dima Hasao, Jorhat, Kamrup-Metro, Lakhimpur and West Karbi Anglong alongwith 10 other districts Sonitpur District is all set to celebrate the Gunotsav which will be held in the 3rd phase of the mega evaluation process with a four day long programme from June 1 here.

As part of the brisk preparation for the programme, under the direction of the state Education department and supported by office of the inspector of schools, SDC, Tezpur and four education blocks of the district and the district administration here a series of programmes have been held including imparting training for the nodal teachers, CRCCs, teachers of different schools etc. during the past days in the district,

Meanwhile, a daylong training programme was held on Monday on the ensuing Gunotsav for the nodal teachers at Uttar Anchalick Sanskritik Sangha at Haleswar near here wherein over one hundred nodal teachers of different schools under Bandarmari 1 and 2, Dekargaon, Balipukhuri, Bindukuri, Bahbari, Napam 1 and 2, Samdhora,  Singitoli, Holeswar, Nij-Goroimari, Ghuramari, Mansiri and Namonigaon 1 and 2 clusters took part in the programme while Professor Manmayuri Goswami from College of Teacher Education, Tezpur, Monashree Borah, lecturer, DIET Sonitpur and i/c Balipara Education Block and two liaison officers (CRCC) respectively Keshob Barman and Pranab Borah taking part as resource persons of the event discussed in detail on how to get involved with the forthcoming Gunotsav seeking a proper evaluation of the schools concerned.
