SSB hosts ‘Say No to Drugs’ workshop at Gossaigaon College

GOSSAIGAON, March 18: The 31st Bn, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), with a noble purpose to educate and raise awareness among the younger generation in today’s world, organised a workshop on ‘Say No to Drugs’ at Gossaigaon College chaired by Parag, Second-in-Command of the 31 Bn SSB Gossaigaon.

The purpose of the workshop was to educate the students of the college on the detrimental effects of drugs on adolescent psychological health and its health hazards. The workshop was attended by a total of 130 students from Gossaigaon College.

Parag, Second-in-Command of the 31 Bn SSB Gossaigaon, further emphasised that drug abuse could result in various future problems, encompassing social, physical, emotional, and vocational aspects. Substance abuse is known to impact an individual’s physical and mental well-being, social relationships, family dynamics, work performance, educational pursuits, and overall quality of life. Potential consequences of substance abuse include organ damage, such as to the heart, brain, and liver.

Furthermore, Parag, Second-in-Command, also delivered a lecture promoting awareness programs for students to consider joining the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). He encouraged students to contemplate careers in CAPFs, which include SSB, BSF, CISF, ITBP, CRPF, and Assam Rifles, highlighting the opportunity to serve the nation nationwide while receiving a competitive salary.
