SSB personnel sensitised on their role in fighting criminals to save rhinos

GUWAHATI, Sept 22: In observance of International Rhino Day, around 40 border police officials received training on combating crimes against rhinos and wildlife. The session, led by Ivy Farheen Hussain of Aaranyak at the SSB’s Rangia Sectoral HQ, focused on wildlife crime trends and the role border police can play in prevention. This training was part of a two-day wildlife crime prevention course for SSB officials, reflecting the organisation’s active involvement in combating wildlife crimes. The event aligned with Aaranyak’s DETERS Initiative, emphasising the need for collaboration and awareness in addressing wildlife crime cases. The SSB expressed gratitude for the informative session and sought continued collaboration with Aaranyak to strengthen conservation efforts in the region.
