State gears up for ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Ram Mandir

DIBRUGARH, Jan 21: Dibrugarh, in sync with the rest of the nation, is abuzz with excitement as it prepares for the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The city has witnessed vibrant celebrations, and the local community is eagerly anticipating the auspicious occasion.

A massive rally, starting from Rani Sati Mandir and traversing through the main routes of the town, marked the celebration of ‘Pran Pratishtha’. The participants in the rally echoed the chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’, creating an atmosphere of joy and devotion.

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Nagar in Dibrugarh has actively collaborated with various organisations and the Mandir Committee to organise religious programs in connection with the monumental event. The Maithili Samaj orchestrated a ‘Kalash Yatra’, commencing from Hanuman Garhi Mandir and winding through the town’s main routes. Women adorned in traditional attire took part in the Yatra.

On Monday, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, in conjunction with other organisations, has scheduled a Havana which will be performed by Gyatri Paribar at HS Road, Dibrugarh. Additionally, a Maha Arati is planned from 1 pm onwards to signify this historic day.

Pallov Kumar Chakravortty, president of VHP, Nagar, expressed, “We have organised many programs on Monday, which is a historic day for all of us. For the last 500 years, we have been waiting for the Ram Mandir, and now the day has come. Ramayana Bhajan, cultural programs by the students of V.K.V school, and other cultural programs are organised.”

Abhijit Paul, secretary of VHP, Nagar, stated, “We are very much excited for the day because for all Sanatanis it is a great day. As per all Hindu rituals, we will conduct the event tomorrow. We are in association with all the organisations to mark the great event.”

Our Margherita correspondent adds: On the occasion of Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha, a grand rally was organised in Margherita on Sunday, drawing the participation of more than 10,000 enthusiastic individuals. The event, marked by fervent Jai Sri Ram slogans, created an Ayodhya-like atmosphere in the town.

The rally, commencing from Adarsha Vidyalaya Margherita, proceeded towards Sri Sri Ram Janaki Mandir Nagathakurbari Margherita, symbolising the collective joy and celebration surrounding the consecration of the Sri Ram Mandir.

The two-day program kicked off with the mass rally, setting the tone for the festivities. On the second day, Monday, the schedule includes Prabhat Feri (morning procession), Hom Yagya (ritualistic fire ceremony), chanting of Hanuman Chalisa 108 times, felicitation of key contributors to the Sri Sri Ram Mandir Foundation from Margherita, Shankhnaad (blowing of conch shells), distribution of Mahaprasad (sanctified food), illumination of 5000 earthen lamps, and concluded with a religious cultural program.

Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma inaugurated the rally at Adarsha Vidyalaya Margherita, leading the procession to its culmination at Sri Sri Ram Janaki Mandir Nagathakurbari Margherita.

Our Demow correspondent adds: Sri Sri Ramjanki Thakurbari, located in Sukanpukhuri near Demow, is gearing up for a series of programs on Monday, to celebrate the grand ceremony of Pran Pratishtha for the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

The schedule for the day includes a cultural procession in the morning, showcasing the vibrant and festive spirit of the occasion. Following this, there will be a special Lord Ram Puja, and the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha program will be displayed for the devotees.

As part of the celebrations, a Satyanarayan Puja is also scheduled, and in the afternoon, Prasaad will be distributed among the attendees. The festivities will continue into the evening, with the lighting of earthen lamps in the Mandir premises, creating a serene and illuminated atmosphere.
