State-level workshop for district officials on tobacco control held in Tezpur

TEZPUR, Sept 18: A state-level workshop on tobacco control for district officials was jointly organised by International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union) and the State Tobacco Control Cell (STCC), Assam, at Tezpur on Friday.

The event which was attended by nodal officers from 16 district tobacco control cells in addition to officials from the Education departments witnessed lively discussions on issues like the tobacco burden, ToFEI guidelines, vendor licensing & the COPTA Act.

Distinguished guests include Madhurima Das, ASP, Sonitpur, Dr. Dwijen Das, assistant professor of medicine, TMCH & Dr. PK Bora, director NERIWALM, Dr Amit Yadav, senior technical advisor, The Union and Arzoo Dutta, senior consultant, NTCP, Assam were present in the event.
