DIPHU, Oct 24: The first Sunday School Children Annual Meet with the theme, ‘Honour your father and mother, that you may have a long life.’ – Exodus 20:12, was organised by Karbi Anglong Presbyterian Church Synod, Diphu Pastorate, Rongkimi. The meet was held at Rongkimi Presbyterian Church, here on Monday.
Around 100 children from various Presbyterian Churches of Diphu Pastorate participated in the meet. In the daylong programme activities like singing competition, scripture memorise competition, Bible quiz competition and general knowledge were conducted for children.

In the valedictory service Church Elder, Rostanwell Rongphar in his exhortation note asked children to honour their parents in order to have long life. Should give respect and honour to elders then only will learn to become good citizens. As there were adolescents participating in the meet, Rongphar advised them not to get married too early, rather continue with their studies and participate in Church activities.
He also asked the Sunday School children not to get tired doing good works and to have competitive spirits.
Earlier, the meet was inaugurated by chairman, Diphu Pastorate, Elder Mojendro Ronghi and praise and worship was taken up by Rongkimi youth fellowship.
It may be mentioned that the competition was divided into three groups: Primary, junior and intermediate. Prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners and all participants.
