KHERONI, July 17: A cultural evening featuring the play “Mon Toy Na-Kandibi” was organised at the drama platform in 3 No Dahgaon village under the 1 No. Kaki area of Hojai district on Wednesday.
The event began with the formal inauguration of the play at 7:30 PM by Biswajit Chakraborty, Principal of the Assamese Medium High School in Lumding, who cut the ceremonial ribbon to open the performance.
Renowned social worker and community figure from Lumding, Sujit Shome, attended as the chief guest. Ahead of the performance, several local intellectuals and social workers were felicitated with traditional Assamese phulam gamocha in recognition of their contributions.
The play, “Mon Toy Na-Kandibi”, written by Champak Sharma and directed by Prabin Saikia, was staged at 8 PM by local artistes.
The production was organised by the Srimanta Sankardev Krishti Vikash Kendra and drew a large crowd of enthusiastic local residents who enjoyed the performance through the night.
At the conclusion of the event, Gajen Hazarika, General Secretary of the organising body, extended heartfelt gratitude to all the guests, participants, and attendees for their support in making the programme a success.
