Mampi Singh Dutta, in the press meet, denied the allegations levelled against her and said that the protest was motivated by a political motive and challenged two women to prove the allegations who were leading the dharna.

At Makum Pathar gaon panchayat, we have done all round development work from roads, PMAY houses, Orunodoi scheme, widow pension and even we have given one time financial aid for man-elephant conflict to the next of the kin but then also some vested interest people wanted to malign my image which is very unfortunate and painful, said Mampi Singh Dutta.

Mampi Singh Dutta added that since the panchayat elections is scheduled to be held this year, the two women who are deliberately leading the dharna against her have fallen into the guise of others and made such false and baseless allegations.

A third party says have been involved in such misdeeds in order to lower the dignity of the panchayat president among the people and it may be recalled that hundreds of women and men, on Thursday, arrived at the press meet in support of Mampi Singh Dutta and everyone claimed that the allegations levelled against the president of Margherita Makum Pathar gaon panchayat are baseless and warned the concerned third parties to refrain from doing such acts.
