Narzary said the corruption had come down in BTC since UPPL overtook the Bodoand Territorial Council (BTC) Government with various reformative agendas. He informed that BTC Government has initiated and launched various missions to make healthy upliftment and development of the citizens across the region including Bodoland Super 50 for UPSC coaching, Bodoland Super 50 for IIT, NIT etc and received a good response from the citizens.
He said a section of politically motivated persons were trying to create confusion among the people with false allegations on tribal land rights in the region. He said BTC was formed under sixth schedule of the constitution and the land rights is continuing as per the sixth schedule norms.
“No one can change the rules and regulations of land rights without amendment by the State as BTC has no power to change land rules,” he said adding that the Gauhati High Court had issued eviction notice against non protected class of people from tribal belts and blocks but the eviction is a State subject and BTC has no power over it and thus targeting BTC over eviction is completely exaggerated and politically motivated.
UPPL leader Narzary said peace had come in BTC and the council has been working for the people with temperative and innovative ideas where various welfare schemes have been launched. He said for welfare of students for pursuing higher studies Bodoland Super-50 has been launched for engineering and civil service aspirants and Gyan Swrang has been launched through which students are given Rs. 5,000 each.
