KOKRAJHAR, Aug 18: The ruling United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) on Monday organised a massive “Rally for Harmonious BTR” at Kajalgaon in Chirang district, highlighting the party’s vision of peace, unity, and development in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
The rally was led by Bodoland Territorial Region Chief Executive Member (CEM) and UPPL president Pramod Boro, accompanied by party working president and Rajya Sabha MP Rwngwra Narzary, general secretaries Raju Kumar and Madhab Chetry, women’s wing president Pratibha Brahma, along with several senior leaders of the party.
Thousands of supporters participated in the event, waving party flags and chanting slogans in favour of a progressive BTR.
Addressing the gathering, CEM Pramod Boro reiterated the UPPL’s commitment to building a “harmonious and inclusive BTR” where every community can live with dignity, equal rights, and security.
He said that under UPPL’s leadership, the region has witnessed a new era of peace and development, moving away from its history of unrest.
Boro appealed to the people to remain united, stating that the strength of BTR lies in unity, and urged them to reject divisive forces while working collectively for a peaceful and prosperous future for the younger generation.
He further said that the UPPL has received overwhelming support and love from the people across the region, as the BTR government has been working relentlessly for the welfare and uplift of the common masses since its inception.
He added that the government has already implemented several measures for the wellbeing of citizens, including initiatives for human resource development among communities.
