HAFLONG, May 4: A man was attacked by a big wild cat on Thursday night at around 6:00 pm in Longmailai village near Gunjung in Dima Hasao district.
The person was attacked when he went to bring back the cattles from the field near the jungle, the person was identified as Amrit Dibragede (30).
As per Dibragede, the big cat suspected to be a leopard attacked him when he tried to save his cattle from it.

When the villagers heard Dibragede’s screams, they immediately rushed to the spot, seeing that the big cat escaped inside the forest.
Dibragede sustained several bite injuries in the body including on head, he was later brought to Haflong Civil Hospital for treatment and his condition is stable now.
The incident took place in the outskirts of the village and villagers said that they often see footprints of big cats..
