HOJAI, July 30: The district level capacity building workshop on managing Child Friendly Spaces (CFS) during emergencies was successfully organised by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Hojai in collaboration with the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) and UNICEF at the DC’s Conference Hall, Hojai, on Tuesday.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr Sonashree Brahma, ACS, ADC cum CEO, DDMA, Hojai, in the presence of the district social welfare officer, Hojai. The DPO, DDMA, Hojai, and key resource persons from the Education, Health & Social Welfare Departments discussed the management of CFS in relief camps, the humanitarian crisis and its impact on children, continuity of education, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), and psychosocial response, followed by pre- and post-activity sessions among the participants.
Participants included the relief camp in-charges of model relief camps from the Education Department, CHO/MPWs, ASHA workers from the Health Department, district coordinators from the PHE Department, CDPOs, supervisors, block coordinators, Anganwadi workers from the Social Welfare Department, and FOs (DM) of all revenue circles. The F&ESS, Sankardev Nagar demonstrated the fire extinguishers and rescue equipment used during emergencies, and the Social Welfare Department prepared a demo child friendly space for the participants.
The training program concluded with the distribution of certificates and a vote of thanks.
