BISWANATH CHARIALI, March 22: ‘Environment Education Programme’ (EEP), Assam is a week-long programme for life campaign undertaken by the science technology & climate change department was held at Dakhin Nagsankar High School here on Wednesday with a day-long programme.

The programme organised by Assam Science Technology & Environment Council (ASTEC) in association with CADAT, an NGO began with an awareness rally which was flagged off by Ballav Chapagain, headmaster of the school.

After the rally, the workshop began with illumination of earthen lamps by Chandra Kanta Sarma and Lila Kanta Sarma, retired headmasters respectively. Ripunjoy Bordoloi, assistant teacher of Chengamari HS graced the occasion as a resource person who delivered his lecture of World Water Day and adverse effects of single use plastic. Notably,

World Water Day has been observed on March 22 around the world to make people aware about the use of water etc. The programme was attended by Chandan Upadhyaya, SMDC president, Bhabani Sarma, Arup Barua, Anju Devi, journalist Uttam Kumar Nath besides others. All the proceedings of the programme were conducted by Anjan Bora while Manoranjan Hazarika, secretary of CADAT offered a vote of thanks.
