NAGAON, July 15: An awareness-cum-capacity building workshop under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme was held on Friday at the auditorium of Rabindranath Tagore University, Hojai.
The workshop is part of a World Bank-supported central sector initiative under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India.
Organised by the Hojai Unnayan Mancha (HUM) in collaboration with the District Industries and Commerce Centre (DICC), Hojai, the event was implemented by the Assam Small Industries Development Corporation (ASIDC) Ltd.
It aimed to promote sustainable economic development and strengthen local entrepreneurship under the “Make in India” and “Make in Assam” initiatives.
Key issues discussed at the workshop included capacity building of MSMEs, financial literacy for women and SC/ST entrepreneurs, access to government finance schemes, awareness of e-commerce platforms such as GeM and ONDC, and knowledge sharing with financial institutions.
The event also highlighted the ZED (Zero Effect Zero Defect) certification scheme and best practices in decarbonisation, greenhouse gas accounting, and energy audits.
Among those attending as special invitees were Mouchom Bora, Lead District Manager, Hojai; Samir Das, Chartered Accountant; Manash Debnath from ASRLM; and social worker Uttam Kumar Das. Resource persons included Dr Kasturi Pusty from FSSAI Hojai, Atowar Malik, ZED facilitator for MSME, and Jayanta Dey from ONDC.
Rupanjit Bhattacherjee, in-charge General Manager of DICC Hojai; Steffi Chinir from ASIDC; and Sujay Kumar Dutta, secretary of HUM, were also present at the workshop, according to an official press note.
