World Education Day observed at Srimanta Sankardev Vishwavidyalaya

NAGAON, Nov 11: Along with rest of the world, Department of Education, Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev Vishwavidyalaya also observed World Education Day at the university campus here in the small town on Friday.
Triveni Saikia, head, department of Education, welcomed the guests as well as the other attendees in the programme while Ankita Dutta, a student of the university anchored the session.
‘Education is a fundamental right’ – the documentary was also screened under special persuasion of Prof Gaurav Pratim Hazarika during the programme.
Mrinal Kr Bora, registrar of Srimanta Sankardev Vishwavidyalaya ceremonially released the wall magazine – ‘Vidyanaam of all education’.
During the programme, the organisers also felicitated three successful students of Srimanta Sankardev Vishwavidyalaya – Bibek Gope, Mridusmita Talukdar and Lipika Kalita for clearance of NET examination in the current year.
Leena Doley, superintendent of police, Nagaon was also present in the programme as chief guest, a release added.
