GUWAHATI, Jan 24: BMW India unveiled its first-ever X1 Long Wheelbase All Electric SUV at the Auto Expo 2025, marking a significant milestone in India’s premium electric vehicle market.
The BMW X1 Long Wheelbase, locally produced at the BMW Group Plant in Chennai, is now available for booking at BMW dealerships across the country.
Priced at an introductory ex-showroom rate of Rs 49,00,000, the SUV features the exclusive eDrive20L drivetrain, offering a blend of luxury, sustainability, and practicality tailored for Indian consumers.
Mr. Vikram Pawah, President and CEO, BMW Group India, highlighted the significance of the launch, stating, “Today, BMW has disrupted the Indian premium automotive segment with the X1 Long Wheelbase All Electric. It’s big, it’s an SUV, it’s an EV, and it’s a BMW! As the first ‘Made in India’ EV from BMW, the X1 Long Wheelbase heralds a new era of innovation and excellence.”
He emphasized that the SUV caters to the aspirations of modern India, offering a spacious and versatile design, cutting-edge EV technology, and premium features, making it the perfect choice for first-time luxury car buyers.
BMW India has also introduced a comprehensive ecosystem for its electric vehicles, including Destination Charging, Smart eRouting, and a Charging Concierge service to enhance the ownership experience. Additionally, flexible financial plans are available to make the vehicle more accessible to customers.
The BMW X1 Long Wheelbase All Electric is expected to set new benchmarks in India’s premium EV segment, combining sustainability with the luxury and performance synonymous with BMW.
