GUWAHATI, May 31: Dr Sushil Jain, senior consultant, general, Anorectal, Laparoscopy and Gastroenterology Surgery at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, was honoured with the coveted Dr Bhupen Hazarika Award at the 45th Beltola Bohagi Utsav, in Beltola, Guwahati.

This prestigious award recognises Dr Jain’s exceptional dedication to serving humanity and his remarkable contributions to the field of pediatric cancer care.

Named after the legendary Assamese musician and Bharat Ratna awardee, Dr Bhupen Hazarika, this prestigious honour is bestowed upon individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to society while upholding Assam’s rich cultural heritage.

The award comprises symbolic items like a memento of Dr Bhupen Hazarika, a ‘Muga Gamosa’, a ‘Paat Chelleng’, a ‘Rhino memento’, a ‘Jaapi’, and cash prize of Rs 2 lakh.
