GUWAHATI, Nov 3: The India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) has lauded the Government of India, the Department of Science and Technology (DST), and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) for launching the ₹1 lakh crore Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme Fund during the inauguration of the ESTIC 2025 conclave by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

IESA said the landmark initiative would significantly strengthen India’s innovation ecosystem and empower the private sector to lead advanced research and development across high-impact domains such as semiconductors and advanced electronics.

The association noted that the fund would serve as a vital catalyst for the semiconductor sector by promoting indigenous research, design-led manufacturing, and technology development — paving the way for India’s transformation from a major consumer to a global innovator and producer.

“As the apex industry body, IESA will continue to play an active role in fostering collaboration between government, industry, and academia to ensure that this historic initiative delivers impactful outcomes across the semiconductor and electronics value chain,” the statement added.
