GUWAHATI, Dec 26: The Guwahati Branch of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) recently celebrated its 48th Foundation Day with a solemn flag hoisting ceremony, marking nearly five decades of professional service in the North-Eastern region.
The ICAI flag was hoisted by Raginee Goyal, Chairperson of the Guwahati Branch, in the presence of managing committee members of the Branch and representatives of EICASA Guwahati, the student wing of ICAI.
The ceremony symbolised unity, continuity and commitment to the core values of the chartered accountancy profession.
Addressing the gathering, Goyal reflected on the history, evolution and rich legacy of the Guwahati Branch and paid tribute to the vision and leadership of its founding members and past office bearers who laid a strong professional foundation in the region.
As per records, the Guwahati Branch was inaugurated on December 25, 1977 under the aegis of the Eastern India Regional Council of ICAI.
The Branch was initially led by K. C. Das, whose efforts were instrumental in establishing and nurturing the institution during its formative years.
After completing 48 years, the Branch continues to carry forward its legacy under the present leadership of Goyal, with a focus on professional excellence, ethical standards and continuous capacity building of members and students.
Over the decades, it has emerged as a vibrant centre of professional learning through regular seminars, conferences, training programmes, student activities and public awareness initiatives.
The Foundation Day celebration concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony commemorating 48 years of dedicated service.
The event was coordinated by Kumar Victor Saha.
Anjani Kumar Mundhra, Nitika Bagaria and Vikash Kumar Choudhury were also present on the occasion.
