Mega conference for CA students concludes

GUWAHATI, June 16: The two-day Mega Conference for CA Students 2025, organised by the Board of Studies – Operations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), concluded on a successful note in Guwahati on Sunday.

The event, hosted by the Guwahati Branch (EIRC) and the Guwahati Branch of EICASA, commenced on June 14 and drew enthusiastic participation from students, subject experts, motivational speakers, and dignitaries from across the country.

In his welcome address, CA Vikash Kumar Choudhury, Chairman of EICASA Guwahati, introduced the conference theme—“Parivriddhi: Sankalp Se Siddhi Tak.” 

Assam Education and Tribal Affairs (Plain) Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu conveyed his best wishes through a message, lauding the initiative and its importance in shaping future professionals.

The conference was attended by key ICAI functionaries including CA Sanjib Sanghi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Studies – Operations and Conference Co-Chairman; CA Ravi Kumar Patwa, Central Council Member and Conference Director; CA Mayur Agrawal, Vice Chairman of EIRC and Chairman of EICASA; and CA Raginee Goyal, Chairperson of the Guwahati Branch of EIRC.

The two-day event featured a series of knowledge and skill-enhancement sessions.

Day one began with a session on Direct Tax chaired by Advocate (CA) Giridhar Dhelia from Kolkata, followed by a “Skill-Up” session by CA Vijay Sarda from Pune.

A session on Accounting and Auditing Standards, led by CA Yagnesh Desai from Mumbai, and an interactive discussion with the Board of Studies – Operations concluded the first day’s proceedings.

Day two featured a knowledge session on Indirect Taxation by CA Yash Dhadda of Jaipur.

This was followed by sessions on startups by CA Shivam Palan and a motivational talk by CA Rajesh Sharma, Central Council Member, ICAI.

The final session focused on Artificial Intelligence and was chaired by CA Aashish Sachdev from Jaipur.

A student paper presentation competition was also held during the event, evaluated by CA (Dr) Kamal Mour and CA Anil Agarwala from Guwahati.

The top three presenters were felicitated at the valedictory session.

Commenting on the success of the event, CA Jay Prakash Gupta, Secretary of the Guwahati Branch, said the conference provided an invaluable platform for knowledge sharing and networking.

CA Kumar Victor Saha, nominated member of EICASA Guwahati, described it as one of ICAI’s premier student events.

Chairperson of the Media and Publicity Committee for the conference, CA (Dr) Swati Tejawat, announced that the event concluded on a high note, with central and regional council members, managing committee members, student leaders, and Team Parivriddhi in attendance.
