ZEE5 Sets March 24 Premiere For ‘Kanjoos Makhichoos’

Mumbai, March 14 (PTI): Actors Kunal Kemmu, Shweta Tripathi-starrer “Kanjoos Makhichoos” is set to release on March 24 on ZEE5.
The direct-to-digital comedy drama is written and directed by Vipul Mehta. It also stars the late comedian Raju Srivastava, Piyush Mishra, Alka Amin, and Rajiv Gupta in pivotal roles.

“Kanjoos Makhichoos” is a story of a middle-class Pandey family, based in Lucknow. Kemmu said “Kanjoos Makhichoos” is a mass entertainer and he is hopeful people will enjoy it.
“‘Kanjoos Makhichoos’ is the kind of film that I would love to watch with my family because it is a complete mass entertainer. It has the perfect dose of drama, comedy, plot twists, a sweet message and a whole lot of entertainment. “Also, I had a great time shooting with my co-actors and the entire crew because the energy on-set was great. I am sure that my fans and their families will enjoy this film,” the actor said in a statement.

Manish Kalra, Chief Business Officer, ZEE5 India said “Kanjoos Makhichoos” is a unique and refreshing story.  “It is a refreshing story with light-hearted humour, entertainment and a sweet message. Also, the talented cast led by Kunal Kemmu and Piyush Mishra have done a great job at delivering entertainment with their pitch perfect comic timing. We hope that our viewers will have fun watching this family entertainer,” Kalra said.

“Kanjoos Makhichoos” is the story of Jamnaprasad Pandey (Kunal Khemu), who is infamous in the town of Deoria, Uttar Pradesh as a miser. His parents, Gangaprasad Pandey (Piyush Mishra) and Saraswati Pandey (Alka Amin), wife Madhuri (Shweta Tripathi) and son Krish, are fed up with Jamna’s penny-pinching habits.
