Assam: Government suspends CBSE’s Guwahati zone regional officer LL Meena

Guwahati, March 19: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has placed its Guwahati zone regional officer and joint secretary, Lakhan Lal Meena, under suspension. The order was issued on March 18 by Nidhi Chibber, Chairperson, CBSE.

The notification stated that a disciplinary proceeding against Meena is being contemplated. During the suspension, Meena’s headquarters will be CBSE, Headquarters, Delhi. The specific reasons for the disciplinary proceeding have not been mentioned.

However, Meena is currently involved in a dowry harassment and assault case in Allahabad High Court.

The FIR was registered against Meena in 2013 under multiple sections of IPC and the DP Act. The High Court has currently stayed the proceedings in the criminal case.
