Saikia shared a video in a WhatsApp group alleging that he filed a complaint about the threat. However, he has been closed to reserve by the Deputy Commissioner of Police. The situation arises amid rising tensions around the Echo Pub & Grill case.

Saikia alleges that Dutta threatened him after an incident where he intervened to protect fellow policeman, Pradeep Basumatary, who was allegedly assaulted and set on fire by Dutta.

Saikia expressed concern for his safety and appealed to senior police officials to investigate the matter. He also highlighted the sacrifices made by police personnel, especially during festive celebrations like Bihu.
