Anantnag, April 17: In a tragic incident on Wednesday evening, terrorists fired upon two non-locals in the Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, resulting in the death of one.
A senior police officer confirmed that the terrorists fired from close range. The deceased has been identified as Raja Shah, a resident of Bihar. According to the police, Shah sustained two bullet wounds in his neck and two in his abdomen.
Despite being transported to a nearby hospital, Shah succumbed to his injuries en route. In response, the entire area has been cordoned off and a search operation launched to locate the attackers.
This incident is the latest in a series of attacks on non-locals by terrorists in Jammu-Kashmir. Just last week, a non-local guide named Ranjit Singh was attacked while dining at a local restaurant in the Padpawan area of Shopian district. Singh, who was accompanying foreign tourists at the time, was fired upon by masked terrorists.
