KOHIMA, March 9: A total of 495 Inner Line Permit (ILP) defaulters were detected within Kohima district in the past recent days, an official statement said.
A verification drive was carried out all over Kohima district from March 6 to 8 by a Task Force team consisting of the district administration and police to detect illegal immigrants, Inner Line Permit (ILP) defaulters.
During the verification, cases of expired ILP permit and non-possession of ILP permit were detected and accordingly penalties were imposed as per section (2), (3) and (4) of the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation (BEFR) 1873.
A total of 495 ILP defaulters were detected within Kohima district, out of which 308 were detected from Kohima area, 59 from Chiephobozou sub-division and 128 from Sechù Zubza subdivision. A total amount of Rs. 2,15,400 (Two lakh fifteen thousand four hundred) was realised as penalty and has been deposited as Government revenue.
The Task Force constituted will be conducting periodic checking for detection of illegal immigrant and ILP defaulters within Kohima district. (NNN)
