8 Bangladeshi nationals, 6 Rohingya held by BSF in Tripura

AGARTALA, Oct 15: The Border Security Force (BSF)  in Tripura have detained 8 Bangladeshi and 6 Rohingya nationals from various parts of the state in last 24 hours.

A press release from BSF said that on October 14 on specific information BSF troops of Border Out Post Mike under Unakoti District apprehended 03 Bangladeshi nationals near ICP Manughat while they were planning  to ex-filtrate to Bangladesh territory.

“Apprehended BD nationals are  residents of District  Kishoreganj and Habiganj Bangladesh. In another operation BSF troops of BOP Rangichera under Dhalai District apprehended four Bangladeshi nationals (female) while they were trying to infiltrate into Indian territory with the assistance of touts by negotiating the border fence. Apprehended Bangladeshi nationals are residents of District Bhola and Manikganj, Bangladesh”, the press release said.

The BSF said that on October 15 at in a joint operation with sister agencies BSF troops apprehended 01 Bangladesh national along with 01 Indian tout at Agartala Railway station while they were trying to board Hamsafar Express and in another operation on specific information BSF troops of BOP Baithangbari under North Tripura District apprehended 06 Rohingya Illegal Migrants while they were trying to enter Indian territory by negotiating the border fence.
